PRICES AND POLICIES

 

REGISTRATION

A registration form must be filled out and signed in order for the student to begin class. A registration fee of $25 per person or $45 per family will be assessed at this time. This fee is a one time fee only and is not charged again the following year, unless a student has not attended our studio for at least one year.  Each year a returning student must fill out a new registration form.

*Tuition is due the 1st of every month. 

*$10 Late fee applies after the 5th. 

*Tuition will be $5 more per class for each student if they are NOT on auto withdrawal

*Monthly tuition costs are the same each month (regardless of holidays or school breaks) and pro-rated over the year.  We will only pro-rate if a new student begins in the middle of the month.

*Tuition will now be paid on the 1st of every month by automatic withdrawal.  Therefore a voided check will be needed at time of registration. 

*Prodigy offers a family discount of $5 off the total monthly tuition during the school year only!

*Students who have not paid for more than 2 months will result in suspension until an account is settled with our business director.

*$20 fee assessed to an account with insufficient funds

REFUNDS:
*There are  no refunds after a payment has been taken out of your account through auto withdrawal or the 1st class of the month.   Please notify the front desk 5 days prior to the month you intend to discontinue dance if you are signed up for auto withdrawal.  You are responsible for making payments on time regardless if your class does not start until the 6th, if you are sick , on vacation or we are closed for a holiday.  You can mail your payment or slip it through the door (payments must be received by the 5th.)  Hours of operation are posted on the front window.

PAYMENT DEADLINES: 

Summer Classes & Workshop:

$30 deposit - Required at the time you register to hold your spot

Remaining balance - June 17th.  Late fee after July 1st

Fall/Spring Tuition 2009-10

1st of each month.  Late fee after the 5th.

Costume/Performance Fees:

October 15th -1/2 payment due

January 15th - Final payment

TamJams Workshop:

September 15th - 1/2 payment due

February 15th - Final payment

 

**$10 late fee will be applied to unpaid accounts after each due date**

 

*You may pay the entire amount up front or on a monthly basis until the due date.

*Prodigy may ask dancers to purchase tights, leotards, shoes, etc. that is not included in the amount, but will be used for the performance. Performance fees help offset the cost of the facility, scenery and props, music and lighting professionals.
*All Companies must perform and participate in all performances and events scheduled unless indicated as an option. It is optional, but highly encouraged for the rest of the studio to perform.
 

DRESS CODE

*Please adhere to Prodigy dress codes.

*Prodigy encourages all dance attire to be appropriate and modest. All of our instructors and staff will also adhere to this rule.
*Hair in all classes must be pulled up off the back of the neck and out of the face.
*Please place names in all clothing and shoes.
*Dance shoes should never be worn outside of the studio.

PRESCHOOL:
*Dance attire of any color-but it should be age appropriate.
*Black leather ballet slippers

BALLET:
*Black leotard--any style
*Pink (theatrical) tights
*Pink, "split sole" ballet slippers
*Ballet skirt--optional (sheer material only)
*No shirts or sweatshirts

JAZZ:
*Black jazz pants, togs or dance skirts. No sweats or pants.
*Black leotard or fitted top
*Black, "split sole" jazz shoe (oxford style)
When students are all in the same colors it allows us to see proper technique and to clean dances better.

LYRICAL:
*Jazz attire (teachers will discuss color with class)
*Lyrical sandals/bear claws

TAP:
*Black jazz attire on top and bottom. No street clothes or sweat pants
*Black, "split sole" tap shoe (oxford style).

HIP HOP:
*Sweats or free moving pants or shorts. No jeans.
*Can wear jazz attire
*Sneakers must be worn

PRODIGY MINI COMPANIES:
*Same as Preschool dancers

COMPANIES: Junior through Senior Premier
*Black dance pants, togs or dance skirts. No sweats or pants.
*Provided Black Company shirt (will have two to choose from).
*Black, "split sole" jazz shoe (oxford style). Dancer may be asked to purchase another style shoe if the dance requires it.

MAKE-UP CLASSES

*If you must miss a class, please call the studio.
*If there is a class available, you may make up the class, tuition will not be refunded.
*It is very difficult for teachers during performance time to have dancers missing. We encourage dancers to not miss class, unless you are ill or on vacation. Please let us know when you will be on vacation.
*Missing more than 3 classes may result in a child not performing a section that was rehearsed during the time the student was gone. The teacher will discuss the situation with the student.

 
RULES OF THE STUDIO

*Please arrive on time. If a student is more than 10 minutes late, it will be up to the teacher to have the student participate or sit and watch. Warm-ups are very important so a dancer will not get hurt.
*No gum or food is allowed in class. Water bottles are acceptable.
*Please be considerate of others. Respect other dancer's feelings.  Teamwork is important to the progress of the class. We would like all dancers to feel like family and be treated as such.
. If we catch any students We do not tolerate destroying property or stealing, the student will not be allowed to return. However, we have been very impressed with our students--we have never had a problem occur. Thank you!!!!!
*Parents and friends of students, we love that you will come and watch and support your dancer, we ask that you remain outside of the classroom and watch from the studio windows. Please keep young children close it is a distraction to the teachers and the staff working at the front desk to have children running all over the studio.

 
EVALUATION

As a parent, if you would like to know more about your child's progress, please talk with the instructor of the class. The creative director will discuss dancer's progress often with the instructor. It is our job to know each dancer's name and level to help them to learn and feel comfortable in the studio.

 
SCHOLARSHIPS
Prodigy awards three scholarships a year for dancers with a financial need and who display a strong desire and dedication to dance. They must also take on a leadership role in their classes and help to encourage other students to excel. One scholarship will go to a Preschool age dancer, the second to a studio dancer and the third to a company member.
